To be fair, I am down-grading my original 5 star review, but I am leaving my original content to be fair. However I am providing an update on a more recent interaction with Levco. Specifically, a year or two back I contacted them to also update our master bath. I was told at that time that they did not want to bid the project because I wanted to be too involved in the decisions that were being made. I could only assume that meant that I was trying to state my needs clearly and that ran contrary to the way Joe and his company like to work. What I let slide in my original update was that I had to pay a design fee and their designer basically did nothing. All she did was direct us to suppliers and have us pick out tiles, flooring, vanities, etc. In fact, she could not even find a recommendation on a vanity for our project, and it was not a complex vanity decision at all. Pretty standard selection that we eventually had to seek out and buy one from Home Depot. As noted in my original review, all other aspects and engagement we had with the workers and contractors was very positive. It was simply the designer issue as well as my subsequent interaction with Joe that suggests I changed my review. I do so because I think it’s important for people looking for them to do this work to consider how much input they will be allowed to have and what you might pay for that you might not get your best bang for your buck from, in this case the designer fee. If you want somebody to simply come in and do a remodel and you don’t want to have a lot of input, I think they will do a great job! Original review (for fairness) : Joe and the team were very helpful in getting our small remodel project done. Noah, who was on site daily, helped to keep us in the loop regarding what was going, and when. Between the planning, design, and construction work, we always knew what was going on. A truly professional company, we had a great “partnership”, and I would encourage you, if you are looking at any sort of remodel project, to consider Levco.
I cannot say enough great things about my experience with Levco. Joe was responsive and helpful to begin the process of designing our new addition. He helped connect me with a fantastic architect and we were off to the races. He was also present every step of the way. John was our project manager for the vast majority of the project. He was phenomenal as well as incredibly friendly. Not only did he hold the subcontractors accountable, but he took care of issues that arose almost as though he was taking care of his own home. He also did a great job of anticipating problems before they presented themselves and helped us identify and implement solutions quickly to keep the project on track. Phil, Cindy, and the rest of the team were fantastic as well. I would hire them again in a heart beat and have recommended them to several others considering a remodel in the area.
Joe, Cindy, Phillip and all the others at Levco really are amazing people to work with. The design process was key to transforming an older home into a modern marvel. Joe’s creativity, open minded approach and willingness to work with us was first rate. In the end, Levco made our home into a comfortable and modern family treasure. Thanks Levco!
Joe Levitch and Levco Builders just completed a fairly small kitchen remodeling project for me. It was the most pleasant and stress-free experience I have ever had with a building contractor. There was never any pressure at any stage in the process, but always assistance in making the many choices that remodeling always requires. Work was done timely by competent, friendly professionals. The job site was always left tidy and clean at the end of the day and they were very respectful of the fact that we had to live in our home while they did their work. I have read some negative reviews on Google, but it is clear that at least two of them are from trolls who never had work done by Levco. This is the tyranny of anonymous online reviews. If you want a cut rate price for low quality work, Levco is not for you, but if you are willing to pay a fair price to have a job done properly, professionally and timely, then Joe and his team will not disappoint. For those who care about such things, and I do, Levco is committed to reuse and recycling. Also, Joe’s personal long-term commitment to the community and its people should be acknowledged and is worthy of support. i would especially like to thank Jesiah, who was our lead project manager and worker, as well as Shane and Carmen, who all helped bring our kitchen ideas to life. Jesiah, in particular, is a quiet perfectionist whose work is a joy to watch. Follow-up nearly 5 years later… Nearly 5 years after Joe Levitch and his crew did a minor remodel in our kitchen, we found we had a slow water leak that had caused a significant mold problem and had destroyed the sunflower under a portion of the kitchen. When had a flood repair and contractor start work and got mold abatement handled, but our insurance denied the claim and we were left paying for the project ourselves. We were trying to find contractors to do various aspects of the job, but were not able to get workers to actually come to our home and start work. In frustration, after having no use of our kitchen for 3 weeks and with a large section of the kitchen floor and subfloor missing, I called Joe. He got a crew on the job in 2 days and his people did a great job of getting the entire mess mixed up in a timely fashion. They got our job all done in 2 weeks, with the largest amount of time spent getting flooring ordered and delivered. It is such a pleasure to work with a professional, ethical contractor. Thank you again Joe, Cindy and all your crew!
We cannot say enough positive things about our experience with Levco. Joe and his crew came aboard our project after a previous contractor had left our home in shambles. Levco took on the very difficult job of making our home whole again. Our project involved an entire home rebuild/remodel (including new plumbing & electrical) and the addition of a master suite in an existing attic area. Levco had a solid understanding of north end building requirements and promptly obtained necessary permits. Jesiah and his crew always took the time to listen and weren’t afraid to think outside the box to make things happen. Noah handled most of our custom projects. He’s a super talented carpenter and his attention to detail is evident by his beautiful work. Levco does not take shortcuts. Their work is quality and they stand behind it. I recommend this company with no reservations. We only wish we had hired them the first time around!
